A little update from Team 1, Inner North East Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team |
||
|
The team, made up of 1 sergeant, 4 officers and 4 PCSO’s continue to work tirelessly and take firm action against the supply of Class A drugs, recognising the serious harm this criminality causes across our communities.
Over the past 12 months, officers have arrested 26 people in relation to drug dealing, removing an estimated £160,000 worth of Class A/B and C drugs from the streets of North East Leeds.
Drug dealing is frequently linked to violent crime and the carrying of bladed weapons, with offenders regularly carrying knives. By disrupting drug supply, we are also reducing the risk of serious violence, safeguarding vulnerable people, and preventing further harm.
This proactive work targets those who cause the greatest harm, disrupts organised criminal networks, and helps make our neighbourhoods safer for residents, businesses, and visitors.
We thank the community for continuing to share information and support this work — it plays a vital role in tackling drugs, violence, and weapon-related crime in our area.
